When she started stringing jewelry, Lina Hamadeh found that it helped with the stress of her job. Lina had no idea that her female colleagues would end up being her first clients. This eventually led her to handcrafting silver jewelry and beading more elaborate jewelry.
Her friends and clients often tell her that the colors she uses for beading stand out because of her use of unusual color combinations. Lina attributes her color combinations to the fact that her husband is of Indian origin. That in itself exposed her to the use of colors in Indian gardens and clothing, particularly saris. Her work related travel as an international gender specialist had also led her to appreciate differences in the color variations used in jewelry and clothes in the developing countries she has traveled to.
Each piece she makes is always a process of exploration of colors whether the gems used in her silver work or her beaded jewelry.
